DINGDONG DANTES is one, if not the most popular actor in the Philippines today. His real name is Jose Sixto Raphael Gonzales Dantes III and was born on August 2, 1980.His showbiz career started when he was only 9 years old when he appeared in a commercial for a popular dairy product. Dingdong started in the TV limelight when he joined the Abztract Dancers which became as regular performers in Eat Bulaga and That's Entertainment.
Dingdong Dantes started acting in GMA-7's TGIS where he was paired with Antoinette Taus. That team-up results in two movies "Honey My Love So Sweet" and "I'm Sorry My
Love".
Dingdong entered the TV ratings chart when he was paired with Tanya Garcia in GMA's primetime soap opera titled "Sana Ay Ikaw Na Nga". With the pair's initial success, they again topbilled in another primetime show "Twin Hearts".
Dingdong Dantes became a household name in the Philippines when he portrayed the role of Sergio in 2007, opposite to Marian Rivera, in another GMA teleserye - the Philippine remake of Marimar. The show became a phenominal hit as it sit in the no.1 spot of the ratings during its airtime.
Another Dingdong Dantes - Marian Rivera tandem hit the small screen in 2008 when they teamed-up for Dyesebel which also made it's way to the no.1 spot in TV ratings.
Due to Dingdong and Marian's appeal to the Filipino audience, GMA Films launched their first movie together entitled "One True Love" which became a big hit as it earned a gross of 84 million pesos.
Dingdong also hit the world records when he was chosen as one of the 25 Sexiest Men of the World by E Television. He ranked 3rd overall in the final tally.
In 2009, he started with another teleserye opposite Marian Rivera in an adaptation of Carlo J. Caparas' graphic novel "Ang Babaeng Hinugot Sa Aking Tadyang". The pair is more daring in this show as they showed some skin and it hit the no.1 spot in the ratings during it's debut on the small screen.
